Katherine Meenan is chair of the IIEA Germany Group.  The IIEA provides a forum for all those interested in EU and International affairs to engage in debate and discussion, and to evaluate and share policy options. The IIEA has a number of policy groups.  The Germany Group aims to provide political, social and economic information on Germany and to help understanding of Germany in the EU and German-Irish relations.   Katherine works is a self-employed consultant on EU affairs.  She has worked in Irish politics and industry, including the food industry and Bord na Mona.  She was special advisor to Dr Garret FitzGerald as Taoiseach (Prime Minister.)  She acted as advisor to John Bruton T.D., a member of the Presidium of the Convention on the Future of Europe, and as Consultant to the Joint European Affairs Committee of the Irish Parliament.
