Professor of Constitutional and European Law at University College London
Ronan McCrea is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin (LL.B.) and the London School of Economics (M.Sc., Ph.D.). He is currently Professor of Constitutional and European Law at University College London and a recurring visiting professor at the Central European University in Budapest. He is a former référendaire (judicial clerk) at the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg and a member of the Bar of Ireland and the Bar of England and Wales. He has been a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence, a visiting scholar at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. In addition to his academic writing he has advised a number of NGOs and state bodies and writes regularly on matters of European and constitutional law for publications such as The Irish Times, The Irish Independent and The Financial Times.
